We're All a Little Mad Here
The Mad Chandler is a woman-, survivor-, and autistic-owned candle company that captures artistic expression through wax, flame, and niche fragrances. We’re committed to providing damn good candles, AND using our platform for positive social impact.
Launched in 2021, The Mad Chandler is run by owner and master candlemaker, Cheri Colleen, who can usually be found crafting candles in her studio, packing orders, or slinging wax at one of the local artisan markets in beautiful Southern California.
Market-goers are often delighted to make the acquaintance of Cheri’s youngest child and market helper, who watches the booth when mom needs a quick break, and gives the best encouragement a vendor could get.
Cheri’s oldest works dutifully behind the scenes, offering an expressive thumbs up or thumbs down to each new scent that graces his nose.
As a family and as a candle company, we are cycle breakers. We’ve grown through our own adversity and want to contribute to the greater good by raising awareness, providing resources, and advocating for entrepreneurship as a tool for overcoming adversity, all while offering a luxury product that sparks joy.
We donate a portion of each sale to nonprofits that help survivors of youth homelessness, human trafficking, and intimate partner/family violence, and we love to participate in fundraisers that benefit these groups.
Our next goal is to hire survivors directly and help them break cycles of trauma through meaningful work, livable wages, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.
